Treading. Treading upon the tail of the tiger. It does not bite the man. Success.

The theme of Issue 010 is inspired by the I-Ching (The Book of Changes) and the number 10, Lü. The I-Ching is an ancient Chinese oracle system that stems from North-West China dating back to approximately 1200 BC. Its primary function is concerned with predicting chance events, correcting ones approach in the early phases of transitions, and accounting for what Carl Jung coined the term of, Synchronicity. It comprises of 64 hexagrams, which are made of solid (yang - the firm) and broken (yin - yielding) lines. The Periodic Table of Elements of the West is equivalent to such a system. Instead of focusing on matter, the ancient Chinese were focused on understanding mind, time and happenstance.

Introduction of Issue 010, "Why Do We Take Photographs", is written by featured photographer and contributing writer, Aaron Chapman. Design and layout by Sepehr Mokhtarzadeh.
